8 TIME MANAGEMENT HACKS FOR STUDENTS

In the beginning of each new session, I make a Time Table like the most of you and if not more but do make this statement- “ Is baar toh yeh follow krna hi hai, anyhow! “ and not to my utter surprise, every time, I come back to my old routine after 3-4 days and what all left is a sheet of paper on the wall showing “Dream version of Schedule” with some sticky notes.

Does this happen to you also? Do you do the same thing? If yes, then you should definitely read this. Trust me guys, it’s not that hard. So here I bring some of the Time Management hacks for those who believe that it’s not their cup of tea-

1. TO-DO LIST :

Always keep a To-do list with yourself containing the list of works ranked according to their priorities. So even if you are not able to complete all the tasks lined up for the day, you still end up accomplishing key tasks.

2. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS – TIME BOUND :

Don’t start a work with an opinion that you have plenty of time and will do the other work  once it is finished. Instead, try thinking that I am going to work let’s say for 2 hours and I have to finish it within those 2 hours. This will not only make you more focussed and efficient but you will also be able to give time to other works.

3. WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER :

This does not only involve your multitasking talent but also your ability to delegate work. Try to delegate your work  as much as possible. And also make a list of works in your mind which you can do simultaneously.

4. TURN KEY TASKS INTO HABITS :

There must be some of the tasks that you would be doing on a regular basis. Make fixed time for those tasks so that they can be turned into your habits and eventually, become a part of your daily life.

5. DUMP ALL YOUR DISTRACTIONS :

Hold on! Don’t flow with the literal meaning of the idea. What I mean is keep away all your distractions which include – phone (fb, mails, whatsapp etc.) , laptops, computer or any other thing while you are studying, so that you can stay focussed without worrying whether your friend has replied to your text or not; how many likes you got and etc.

6. UTILISE YOUR WAITING TIME :

I really like what Umberto Eco, a famous professor and novelist, said in his interview that we all have lot of empty spaces in our lives and if we fill these empty spaces with work, we can achieve a lot of success in our life.

So, the next time when you are travelling in metro don’t waste that time. Utilise it with some or other work which you can do easily.

7. KNOW YOUR GOALS :

Knowing your goals is one of the most important part of the story because your each activity of the day; of the week; of the year should contribute something or the other to these bigger goals.Keep checking your progress towards these goals.

8. ENTERTAINMENT BREAKS :

Life is empty without fun! With such a busy life it sounds awkard to have breaks but don’t forget even biggest organisation gives break to its employees then why not you? Fun and breaks fill you up with energy that you loose while doing a task.

So next time don’t forget to check your fb likes when you are on a coffee break!

Last but not the least, it is very important to be committed towards your work and plans if you really desire to enjoy some percent of management in your life. It’s commitment and passion what all requires.

So, try out these easy tips and add on some if required according to your suitability and make a list of your own.

All The Best !
